Privacy Policy — Aromario

Aromario is an app by Clab HF Development. This policy explains what data the app uses, why, and how you can delete it. It is written to be easy to understand; if anything is unclear, write to us.

1.Data we use

Your Google account: name, email and profile picture. You sign in to Aromario with Google; it is the only way to access the app.
Your fragrance profile: your answers to the initial quiz (age range, gender, work setting, favorite and disliked families, preferred intensity, budget and the time of your daily alert). They are backed up to the cloud and linked to your account.
Your wardrobe and wishlist: the list of perfumes you save. They are stored on your phone, in an encrypted database. Since version 1.0.108 they are also backed up to the cloud and linked to your account, so you don’t lose them when you change phones.
Your city and location: used only to get the weather. Since version 1.0.108 they are stored only on your phone (earlier versions backed them up with your profile; after updating, they are removed from the cloud). To get the forecast, the app sends the weather service approximate coordinates, rounded to about 5 km (3 miles), or the name of your city.
Crash reports: if the app crashes, a technical report is sent (phone model, Android and app version, and where the error happened) so we can fix it.
App usage, anonymously: we count how often the Today screen opens, the daily recommendation is shown, a perfume is added to your wardrobe or wishlist, and “Buy” is tapped. These events only carry the perfume ID from the public catalog, where it was added from (catalog or wishlist) and the store name. They don’t include your name, email, account or quiz answers, and they don’t use your phone’s advertising ID.

2.Why we use it

Only to make the app work and to improve it: organize your collection, recommend the right perfume each day based on the weather, the occasion and your profile, alert you at the time you choose, fix errors and learn which features are used most. We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.

3.Anonymous statistics

If you are signed in, after a few days of use the app anonymously adds to global counters: age range, gender, favorite families, the occasions of the perfumes in your wardrobe, and how many wardrobes contain each perfume. These counters don’t include your name, email or any identifier, and can’t be used to tell who you are. They help us improve the catalog and the recommendations.

4.Third-party services

Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication: sign-in.
Cloud Firestore (Google Firebase): backup of your profile, wardrobe and wishlist, and the anonymous counters.
Firebase Crashlytics and Remote Config: crash reports and app settings.
Firebase Analytics: anonymous app usage statistics (the events described in section 1). It is set up without the advertising ID, without the Android device ID and without personalized advertising signals.
Open-Meteo: weather forecast from approximate coordinates or your city name.
GitHub Pages: hosts this website and the perfume photos shown in the app.
Affiliate stores (for example, Perfumania through CJ Affiliate): only if you tap “Buy”. Their website opens and their own policies apply.

Each provider has its own privacy policy, which we recommend you review.

5.How long we keep it

For as long as you have your account. If you delete it, we erase your profile, wardrobe and wishlist from the cloud along with your sign-in account. The anonymous counters can’t be linked to you, so they are not affected. Anonymous usage events are deleted automatically after 14 months. Since they are not linked to your account, they can’t be tied to you and are not affected when you delete it.

6.How to delete your account and data

In the app: Profile › Delete my account and data. It happens right away. You can also request it from our account deletion page.

7.Security

Data on your phone is stored encrypted, and communication with the cloud is encrypted in transit. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8.Children

Aromario is intended for people 18 and older and does not knowingly collect data from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

9.Changes to this policy

If we change it, we will publish the new version here with its date.
